Scott Wortley Named Assistant GM
The Fuel Coquitlam Adanacs are pleased to announce the addition of Scott Wortley as Assistant General Manager. Wortley was born and raised in Coquitlam and played all of his minor lacrosse as an Adanac. Coquitlam minor coaches Les Wingrove, Sohen Gill and Frank Neilson who were all influential in the way Wortley continues to see and coach the game. As an offensively minded player, Wortley always played an honest game and felt that accountability (to his teammates and coaches) was a key component for any team or individual player to be successful.
Wortley moved to Mission in 1998 and has been heavily involved in various lacrosse roles for the past 15 years. He has held the role of President and is currently the Head Coach of the club. Wortley has been instrumental in developing and growing the game in the Fraser Valley and Mission areas. Wortley has coached teams to Provincial Finals for Peewee, Bantam and Midget. He has also been involved in various Team BC Regional teams throughout the years.
"Scott Wortley has always had a strong connection to Coquitlam as a proud alumni. We are very lucky to have a person like Scott join our management team. He was a great leader on the floor and will be counted on to lead the same way as a member of our management team," said club President, James Abbott.
Wortley said, "I am flattered to have this opportunity and hope to continue to bring integrity and a team first, winning attitude to the Coquitlam Jr. A program. I am extremely motivated to help Coquitlam win another National Championship."
