Adanacs one win away from finals
With the Coquitlam Adanacs winning on Friday night, they held a 2-0 series lead heading back home for game 3, which was played on Sunday night.
BrettKujala got the scoring started 2:03 into the first period to make it 1-0 Adanacs and DereckDowns scored 45 seconds later on the powerplay to make it 2-0.
Kujala netted his second of the game with 13:43 remaining as the Saints couldn’t solve Adanacs’ goaltender ChristianDelBianco until 2:19 left on the clock when DylanFoulds scored to make it 3-1 heading into the second period.
The Saints made it a one-goal game when GregLunde scored 3:43 into the second period.
The Adanacs and Saints each exchanged a goal 31 seconds apart, with ColinMunro and ClarkeWalter scoring, making it 4-3 Adanacs.
Foulds notched his second of the game on the power play with 8:23 left and then the Saints took their first lead of the entire series when MickeyFitzpatrick scored on that same power play.
After pouring 20 shots on DelBianco, the Saints needed AndrewGallant to really keep them in it, but the Adanacs know when to make it count as they finished the second period off really strong scoring 3 goals in the final 5 minutes to take a 7-5 lead into the third period.
DennonArmstrong scored close to 5 minutes into the third period to give the Adanacs a three-goal lead.
The Saints couldn’t generate many chances in the third period and the dagger came with 3:26 left in the game when Armstrong scored his second of the game to make it 9-5.
The Adanacs still netted two more past Gallant in the final 3 minutes as the Adanacs take game 3, 11-5.
