Week 1 Overview

Our first week of the 2015 Regular Season only saw your Junior Adanacs playing 1 Home Game as the boys in Purple in Gold hosted the Nanaimo Jr Timbermen for a Sunday afternoon matinee game at Poirier.

As with most BCJALL teams at this point of the season, the Junior Adanacs are faced with over 10 regular roster players still away at their NCAA Colleges finishing off their Field commitments. This gave our players still on try-outs and 5 Intermediate "A" players an opportunity to play with the big Club and show our Head Coach Pat Coyle and Assistant Coach Kyle Sorensen a look at what is coming up through our development teams.

Head Coach Pat Coyle was certainly impressed with the young talent playing their first Junior "A" game in their careers. John Hofseth, Reid Bowering, Matthew McIlwrick, Christian Basso and Dennon Armstrong made their Junior "A" debut and they didn't disappoint. Also playing up was Jared Pozzobon from our Junior "B" team.

Led by Evan Wortley with 5 Points (2G,3A) and John Hofseth with 4 goals, including the Game Winning Goal, the team overpowered the Jr. Timbermen with our Special Team play slamming home 5 PPG's and 1 SHG from Brett Kujala. Recent goalie acquisition, goalie Bryce Phenix started the game and in 1.5 periods of play, held off the early shots from Nanaimo and finished with 0.864 SV% making 19 saves on 22 shots while Anthony Dale came in as the closer with a 0.833 SV% making 10 saves on 12 shots.

Look for some new bodies entering the lineup for our next game as we host the Victoria Jr Shamrocks at 2PM at Poirier.
